Howdy. Holla. Bonjour. Hola. Hi.

Someone to tell it to is one of the fundamental needs of human beings. - Miles Franklin

Due in part to a string of failed relationships and insatiable need to over-analyze every facet of my own psyche in hopes of obtaining inner enlightenment in addition to a brilliant revelation in the shower one morning, I have decided to begin a blog about...love. I don't mean just romantical love but human love in it's all it's forms. Perhaps human relationships would be a better word. (For some reason whenever I give the word love a quick thought-over, the image of sappy, overpriced Hallmark cards flood my brain. Oh, who am I kidding? I love reading those things.) Here's my thought: relationships are the most important aspect of our humanity.Yet, where do we actually learn to have a relationship and relate to other people? There's no manual. You dive in and hope to either sink or swim; it's like using the plug-and-chug method for a math problem. You learn from your experiences and hopefully, as in the point of this blog, reflect upon them and learn something. In a society that is becoming rapidly more connected by the megabyte and pixel, our sense of actual connection to the world and ourselves seems to steadily decline. Many people say that you shouldn't or can't define love. It just is. Then why do so many people suck at it?
